Start of care
Unfortunately, it is a sad event that lead us to meet Kodjo. His mom passed away three months after his birth. She was very young (15 years old) and had to give birth at home due to lack of means. She was very anemic and could not get a blood transfusion in time. Kodjo was brought to our center by his two aunts, who are now taking care of him. He was suffering from moderate undernutrition, as he was not able to breastfeed and his aunts had very low income. When we first met him, at 4 months old, he weighed 4.13 kg. Graines d’Espoir supported him through the donation of artificial milk and medical care at our center.

Kodjo is doing well and no longer suffers from malnutrition. He has moved with part of his family to a remote village.

Weight: 6.89 kg
Kodjo, who is now 7 months old, is very active and cheerful. He can now sit up on his own! Given that his aunt has few resources and that he is over 6 months old, we advised her to combine porridge with artificial milk, and we showed her how to make the preparation.

Kodjo is also doing very well. We even had to ask the family to reduce the milk intake, because he has been getting a little too much weight!

Kodjo gained almost 300 g in one week! He weighs 4.67 kg at 20 weeks and is therefore still in a situation of undernutrition. As usual, we gave him a box of artificial milk, as well as some clothes.
